EUREKA! RIT School of Design Blitz
The EUREKA! Design Blitz is RIT's annual 48-hour intensive interdisciplinary workshop involving undergrad + grad students across the school of design. As a community engagement design workshop, students collaborate in teams and utilize design thinking to creatively address social issues in Rochester. EUREKA! 2016 partnered with Foodlink to identify and solve service design problems within the organization. The winning team is working with Foodlink to implement their solutions. As a past EUREKA! participant, I was asked to brand the 2016 workshop, manage the tumblr, photograph the event, and help out the teams.
Branding, Motion Graphics
EUREKA! 2016 aimed to improve efficiency and service at Foodlink so they could better serve the city. With food on the mind, I branded the event using inspiration from the bold, blocky typography on vintage produce labels and stickers, but with a modern, funky, energetic twist. The promo video was shared on social media, tumblr, and displayed in the college's hallways.
EUREKA! is organized by graphic design faculty Lorrie Frear and Kelly Murdoch-Kitt. Peter Lazarski (art director at Workinman Interactive) and Brian Boucheron (co-founder of Interlock Rochester) joined EUREKA! 2016 as design facilitators, while Annie Wong and Mike Kelly participated as alumni assistants.
